Jackson Roy

Team: Liberty University ACHA

Hometown: Lakeville, MA

Position: Defense

Birth Year: 1997

Height: 6’

Weight: 200 lbs

Chosen Attribute: Integrity

Why is this important to you?

Growing up, integrity is something that my parents always stressed to me as the most important attribute one can have. As Christians, we are called to be testimonies to others.

I believe that the easiest way for one to differentiate themselves is by having integrity that is above reproach. Integrity is something that is very easy to compromise or lose sight of if you let your guard down. As a result, I strive to focus on keeping my integrity as a top priority in my life.

Consequently, there are times where you have to walk away from a situation or choose the high road when it may not be the most appealing route from a secular standpoint. In the world of hockey this attribute is not always a top priority. I strive to be a player and teammate who displays integrity as that is one of my top priorities.

Have you been involved with FCA or FCA Hockey in the past? What has been your experience with us?

I have been involved with FCA Hockey for the past three years. I played in the Chowder Cup for team FCA each summer for the last three years. Each year I had a great experience. The coaches and staff all do an excellent job of creating an environment where Christ is honored and glorified allowing each player the opportunity to grow in their faith.

What is your favorite scripture verse? Why is this important to you?

My favorite verse is Psalm 105:4. This is a verse that I strive to apply to my life at all times.Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.

The reason that this verse is so important to me is because it is a reminder to never question who God is. It also reminds us to always pursue Him. I find this verse to be such an important reminder because there are so many distractions in this world that it is east to be pulled away from your faith. In times of need where we are out of strength, we can look to God for help as his strength will never run out.

How did you hear about FCA Hockey?

My dad is the person who introduced me to Rick Randazzo and FCA Hockey.

What else should we know about you (future goals in hockey, family members, what church do you go to, favorite stuff outside of hockey, etc.)

I will be returning to Liberty University in the Fall. This past season at Liberty my team lost in the National Championship. The entire season was an unbelievable experience. I hope to return to the National Championship and be a National Champion prior to finishing my college career at Liberty.

I enjoy supporting my younger brother, Harrison Roy, who is committed to the University of Maine (DI NCAA) in his journey as a hockey player. I attend Christ Community Church in Taunton MA when I am home.

When I am at school, I attend Thomas Road Baptist Church. Outside of playing hockey, I enjoy coaching/officiating hockey games, hanging out with friends, going to the beach/surfing, and when possible taking in a Bruins or Red Sox game.
