Team: Notre Dame Argos, midget AAA
Hometown: Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada
Birth Year: 2001
Chosen Attribute: Serving
Why is this important to you?
This attribute is important to me because it’s what Jesus did when he was on the earth. This makes serving a great way to just live how Jesus did and to spread Gods love. Living like Jesus did is so important to me because it’s the whole reason Jesus came to earth, to show us the true way to live for our Heavenly Father. Serving shows Gods love to everyone which is so important to me as well because it can impact others in large ways. My favorite serving in Hockey is serving my teammates. This can be done in many small ways, some being filling water bottles, helping with nets, picking up pucks, lending tape, or just being there for your teammates.
What is your favorite scripture verse? Why is this important to you?
My favorite scripture verse is Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus, you who were far away have been brought near by the blood of the Messiah”
This verse is so important to me in two different ways. The first reason being that it reminds me that I am saved through Jesus dying on the cross for our sins. Secondly, because I chose to follow Christ through an FCA camp about two years ago now, with no Christian background in my family, and I was very far away from Christ before this. It was really hard for me to forget my sinful past. I kept thinking how can I live for God when I did such terrible things, but this verse help me in such a huge way. This verse helped me realize that even because I was far from Christ, His love and death on the cross brought me near to him. So this verse really helped me to become all in for Christ and just live a life to glorify God.
What else should we know about you (future goals in hockey, family members, what church do you go to, favorite stuff outside of hockey, etc.)
I am currently attending the Athol Murray College of Notre Dame, until the end of this school year. My family consists of my mom and my dad, and I am an only child. I go to church at grassroots church which is where I also experienced lots of growth in my walk with God. It is all that I could ask for in a church, and is full of great people who I miss dearly. I love to play the flute and listen to music outside of hockey, as well as partake in many different leadership events and activities.
My future goals in hockey are to attend college under a full scholarship or the most offered to help my parents pay with my schooling. But, I know it’s all up to God and that He has a plan, and if that plan doesn’t have me achieving that goal, then I’ll live whatever the plan is that He has for me. I have also started to lead devotions out of the Victory 365 to students at my school, continuously in the morning, and on Thursday nights when we have an all-boys after curfew games night.
