Chosen Attribute:  Serving

Why is this important to you?

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” –Mark 10:45. This is the verse that came to my mind when I chose this attribute. As all attributes are important but when choosing serving, I think of all the ways in which Jesus came to serve and not to be served. “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” –John 15:13 Jesus calls us to serve and to be His servants. We are His chosen people called to serve and love those around us so that we might be used in furthering His Kingdom.

Favorite Scripture verse:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” –Proverbs 3:5-6

I chose this scripture because recently it has been on my heart a lot, especially as a college student. I constantly want to be in control of what is going on, I want to know where I will be in four years, I want to be able to know what I want to do after college, I am constantly thinking, and worrying about what is next. But this scripture just speaks so strongly to my situation. I recognize I am always trying to use my logic and my understanding when His is far beyond mine. It displays that we simply need to trust and acknowledge Him in all our ways and He, not me, will make my paths straight. It is so comforting to me knowing that I have a God that is in control of all situations and all circumstances and I just need to trust Him, love Him, and love others. For that is His will for my life. A quote I enjoy from Tim Tebow, “I don't know what my future holds, but I do know who holds my future.”

What else should we know about you?

I have an amazing family back home in Florida. I am so blessed by my parents Craig and Paula and for all the sacrifices they have made for me to play the game I love. I have three sisters, Samantha 25, Kelsey 21, and Emma 9. Family is very important to me and so thankful for the family He has given me.

I would love to play hockey when school is over wherever God provides the opportunity, then following my playing career I see myself coaching or working with my Dad in the family business.

Outside of hockey I love watching football the NFL and NCAA, but I love college football. I love playing all sports especially pickup basketball and football with friends. I also really enjoy lifting weights and running.

I attend Christ Community Church in Geneseo, NY.
