Team: Mahtomedi High School
Hometown: Mahtomedi, MN
Birth Year: 1999
Weight: 178 lbs
Chosen Attribute: Teamwork
Why is this important to you?
Being able to play for my teammates is one of the reason I love hockey so much. I believe this is why I love high school hockey so much, I have played with my teammates for a long time and I want to impress them and make them proud.
As it says in Proverbs: as iron sharpens iron, so on man sharpens another, I know that my teammates make be better and what I do makes them better.
Teamwork is important to me because it helps everyone involved perform to the best of the ability and when you succeed it is that much more meaningful to have accomplished something with your teammates.
When I play hockey I always think and strive for 3 things (1) Glorify God (2) work as hard as I can for my TEAM (3) have as much fun as possible.
Have you been involved with FCA or FCA Hockey in the past? What has been your experience with us?
I’ve been with our high school chapter of FCA for over 3 years. Last spring I participated in Team FCA Camp in Buffalo NY, Niagara Falls University. I have recently begun dialing into the monthly advisory calls.
I have done many hockey camps but the FCA one was incredible, great competition, great venue, great leaders, great study, great worship, and great fun! If my schedule allows I will go back.
What is your favorite scripture verse?
Revelation 2:26 The one who conquers and keeps my work until the end I will give authority over the nations.
To me this verse means that if I rely and trust in god, even when things are not going well, he will provide and bless me. I try to keep this verse in mind everyday whenever I am going through something difficult.
I believe that God wants His people to be people who use their gifts for his glory and we are to compete and conquer, I want to be God’s conquer which include using my abilities for Gods good.
How did you hear about FCA Hockey?
I heard about FCA from Family and through Mahtomedi High School.
What else should we know about you (future goals in hockey, family members, what church do you go to, favorite stuff outside of hockey, etc.
God willing I would love to play hockey at the next level, however right now I am living my hockey dream as a senior on my high school team, playing with kids I have grown up with and representing our community. I can’t imagine it getting any better than this.
I have great parents, Mark and Melinda Posner they can’t play hockey but they sure love the game and watching me play.
I have an older brother, Jacob, whom I have tried to catch up to all my life he is a great hockey player, incredibly smart and an amazing brother. I have a younger brother, Josh, although he doesn’t play hockey he is a great athlete and the best little brother I could ask for.
We attend First Free Maplewood in Maplewood, MN and I also participate in a weekly morning Bible Study with several young men from various churches around the community.
I love to be on the water especially wakeboarding and skiing. I love to watch videos of my favorite hockey players, the office, White Color, and recently starting watching Friends.
I have been accepted to both Bethel University and Liberty University but I have not made my decision yet. To be honest I am hoping that after my senior year God may bless me with other opportunities or options, but for now I am laser focused on going to state with my high school team.
