Chosen Attribute: Accountability

Why is this attribute important to you?

Accountability. You always have a choice in life and it is easy to fool people that you are doing the right thing in all aspects of life, but at the end of the day, two people know the truth, you and the Lord.

What is your favorite scripture verse?

Matthew 19:24-26
“Jesus looked at them and said ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’”

I really like this verse because it was one of the verses that a teammate of mine would always quote to me before the national anthem before every game. I went through some tough times on and off the ice in junior hockey and struggled with my faith. When I got to college this reminded me that if I put my total trust in the Lord that He would take care of me and I could achieve things on and off the ice that I could not do alone. I have always been a “do it yourself” independent person, but somewhere along the way I needed to be reminded that no matter what happens at the rink or at home the Lord is always there and living each day according to His Word is the greatest victory I can achieve. The rest is in his hands.

What else should we know about you?

I am a sophomore goalie who plays college hockey for the Colorado College Tigers. Before college, I played junior hockey for the Waterloo Black Hawks of the USHL. My family is one of the most important things in my life. I have a brother who was in the United States Marine Corps and I am beyond proud of him for serving our country and being willing to make the ultimate sacrifice. I also have two sisters whom I love very much along with my parents whom I am very close with. Along with hockey I enjoy fishing, hunting, golf and being on the lake. My goals for the future are to play in the NHL and to continue to grow in my faith and spread it to my teammates.

392Get out of NJ while you still can. get out. It will not change.. and soon it will be a turd world rilpbuec. NJ may just be what the nation will look like in 20yrs. You must get out and leave. There is no reason to be here. Everytime I go to the state to either go to Manhattan or visit family, I either:1. Get a busted alignment on my car2. Get stalked by gestappo cops every 3 miles when i enter a new town and a new dept (they did this to blacks in alabama once) for having a PA plate.3. Get stuck in perma-construction on 78 or 804. Pay ever higher tolls on the Turnpike and Parkway.5. Get cut off by some Tony Soprano, who then drive 10mph UNDER the speed limit for ever.F your state. You have snobs in the HILLS and illegal immgrants ghettos and not much in between. It is sad, that so many great things came from NJ, but none lately.33b
