Team: NCAA College – Miami University
Hometown: Wolcottville, IN
Birth Year: 1997
Height: 5'10 1/2
Chosen Attribute: Integrity
Why is this important to you?
During my time at Culver Military Academy (prep school) I learned that integrity is what you do when no one is watching. In the hockey world, integrity isn’t always easy to come by, so I do my best to set an example through my own actions, at all times.
Integrity is something I was taught from a young age and something I have valued greatly for most of my life. I also believe it is a responsibility that we, as Christians, must uphold.
What is your favorite scripture verse? Why is this important to you?
"I can do all this through Him who gives me strength." - Philippians 4:13
What else should we know about you (future goals in hockey, family members, what church do you go to, favorite stuff outside of hockey, etc.)
My future goal is to play for the Florida Panthers in the NHL. In 2015, I was drafted by the Florida Panthers and have been working towards getting there ever since. Currently, I am a sophomore at Miami University, hoping to help bring Miami its first ever national championship. I am also a finance major with a focus on investment banking.
My family includes my father, Kurt, mother, Roxanne, and younger sister, Karis. My dad is a lawyer. My mom is a teacher. And my sister is in high school. She rides horses competitively. We all attend New Life Fellowship church in Shipshewana, IN. For those that are familiar with hockey, sacrifices are immense for all families. However, due to our geographic location in a small Amish town in Indiana, my family has gone above and beyond with their sacrifices. I am very grateful for all they have done in my life.
Some of my favorite hobbies include golfing, playing soccer, or spending time on the lake with my friends. Golf is a fairly recent passion of mine, but is one of my favorite ways to relax after a tough practice or workout. I played soccer up until 5th grade when I had to make a decision between hockey or soccer. Since soccer was my #1 sport growing up, it will always have a special place in my heart. I also grew up on a small lake, so I enjoy water sports and fishing with my friends when I’m at home.
