Why is this important to you? At VMI, we live by an Honor System unlike any other in the nation. I believe that this system of integrity transfers directly to our walk with Christ. People will always doubt what we say, but they will never doubt what we do. Our actions define us, and give us integrity towards other people. If we establish that, they will be far more willing to listen to us as we share the Gospel with them.
Favorite Scripture verse: Isaiah 40:31
“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength,
They will soar high on wings like eagles,
They will run and not grow weary,
They will walk and not faint.”
This has become my favorite verse this past year, especially as I went through the Ratline at VMI. It is a constant reminder to me that when I don't think I can go any further, when I can't take another step, when all I want to do is quit and lie down, that if put my trust in God once again, He will somehow give me the strength to make it through. The strength I need will come from HIM, and the success will be for HIS glory, not mine.
