Team: Northstar Christian Academy Knights
Hometown: St. Cloud, MN
Birth Year: 2002
Height: 6' 1"
Chosen Attribute: Serving
Why is this important to you?
This attribute to me is the most important because serving others means you’re sacrificing your own needs for someone else’s. Especially within a team, serving shows how much you love your teammates. If you have great character and a positive attitude people feed off of that and it makes serving contagious. This brings a special comradery and love towards one another. It is one thing you can control, regardless of on ice performance, if you consistently serve your teammates no matter what, that shows a great level of character to everyone around you. Jesus was the ultimate example of being a servant leader and if we are seeking to model Him, then we should also be looking for opportunities to serve in the lives of others.
Have you been involved with FCA or FCA Hockey in the past? What has been your experience with us? How has FCA Hockey impacted you?
I have been involved with FCA hockey before. I have gone to a number of camps along with Northstar Christian Academy this last year. The experience so far has been life changing. FCA has really brought to light the true brotherhood that is out there for Christian hockey players from all over North America. Going to Northstar this past season really helped ingrain on my heart the things that a Godly man should do. FCA has been an incredible blessing with improving my spiritual life but also exposing me to other hockey players with the same passion to follow Christ. This has impacted my life in such a way that can’t be described and its remarkable over the three years I have been with FCA how it has changed my life forever.
What is your favorite scripture verse? Why is this important to you?
My favorite verse is Psalms 23:4 and it says “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.” This verse has changed my entire perspective on life and the challenges in it. Even in hockey when I have a bad game or I make a mistake I always think about this verse. Knowing that God and the Holy Spirit are right by my side at all times brings me ultimate peace. It reminds me that God has given me nothing I can’t do without him because he is all powerful. All I have to do is lean on him for strength and he will always be there for me.
How did you hear about FCA Hockey?
My parents had known about the organization FCA and wondered if there was a specific ministry for hockey. Sure enough there was and my parents sought out to meet with Rick. Rick and his family had just moved to Alexandria at the time and we were able to connect quickly. We’ve been apart of FCA hockey ever since.
