Chosen Attribute: Excellence
Why is this attribute important to you?
I strive for excellence in all that I do (Spiritually, athletically, and academically). I want to do things well and to be my best in all that I do for Christ, for family and friends, in my sport, and in school. I want to make a difference in this world in all these areas. Christ gave His very best for us, and I want to do the same for Him.
What is your favorite scripture verse?
Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me – It is great to know that I can do ANYTHING I set mind on because I have Christ with me. I also like Colossians 3:17 & 23 “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.”
My grandma taught me that when I take care of the things that are important to God, He will take care of the things that are important to me, and that when I do all that is possible, God will do the “impossible”.
What else should we know about you?
I enjoy reading hockey books, the Left Behind Book Series, and the Bible. I have read through the entire Bible 2 times. Most recently, this past summer, I read the entire Bible in 87 days, after being encouraged to do so by a former Bible teacher.
I have one sister, Niccole who is 24 years old. My sister is the Praise and Worship pastor at her church. She played soccer for Oklahoma State on a full-ride scholarship, where she was an Academic All-American and the Ok State Scholar Athlete of the Year. She will finish her Master’s Degree in a couple weeks. My future goals are to attend college and play hockey, to be a dominant NHL player, and to be a Pastor after my playing days are finished.
