Why is this important to you?
Without the Lord and all those who have supported me in my life through the ups and downs, I would not be where I am today. I hope to reflect the love I have received and the love He has shown us all on the cross to others. Nobody is perfect, but that is alright because He places people in our lives to help us out on our journey’s when we can’t feel His presence. Having other men in my life to help keep me accountable along my journey has been a blessing. FCA Hockey and the Pro/College camp has been a very important part of my personal journey, and has given myself and many others the opportunity to learn and grow in a community unlike any other I’ve ever been a part of in the hockey world.
Have you been involved with FCA or FCA Hockey in the past? What has been your experience with us? How has FCA Hockey impacted you?
I attended FCA bible studies during high school, but I was never involved with FCA Hockey until last summer. Last summer, Gary Steffes invited me to Pro/College camp, and I had an incredibly moving experience where it is ingrained in all of us that hockey is what we do, not who we are. I’ll admit, I was a little hesitant prior to attending my first camp last year in 2018, but I have no regrets now, and am very grateful to be part of such a special community. Everything about FCA and the Pro/College camp is professional, intentional, and beneficial. You not only grow as a hockey player during your time there, but can also grow as a man mentally and spiritually. This year’s camp at the new facility in Alexandria, MN was even better than last year, and I hope to attend for many more years to come.
What is your favorite scripture verse? Why is this important to you?
At the end of my life, I hope to be able to say the words, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7), and I hope to hear the words, “Well done my good and faithful servant." (Matthew 25:21).
How did you hear about FCA Hockey?
