Cameron Kuhl

Team: Alberni Valley Bulldogs, BCHL

Hometown: Clifton Park, NY

Position: Defense

Birth Year: 1997

Height: 6’2"

Weight: 208 lbs

Chosen Attribute: Excellence

Why is this important to you?

This attribute means so much to me because I believe excellence can't be measured, it is something that you as an individual have to wake up and strive for each and every day. Whether that is making sure you wake up early to eat right and get to the rink early so that your body can be prepared to be your greatest that day.

It's making sure you plan time in your day to dig into your bible so you can learn and grow in Gods word so that your mind and soul can be at peace and focused on your path to excellence.

Furthermore, if you strive for excellence everyday when you are older you can look back on your life and all of your experiences so you will have no regrets because you woke up and your mind body and soul were prepared to reach for your goal of excellence every day.

Have you been involved with FCA or FCA Hockey in the past? What has been your experience with us?

I've been involved with FCA hockey since Rick and his family were on the 50 states 50 cities tour and came to my home town.

I can remember the first time I went to a FCA hockey camp at RPI. It was the first time being surrounded by other hockey players that were of the same faith as myself. It was such a great experience!!!

Fast forward, 6 years later I'm writing this and it has morphed into dozens of life long friendships, mentors and unforgettable moments with everyone at the camps.

What is your favorite scripture verse? Why is it important to you?

Phil 4:13 “I can do all this through him who gives me strength”

This is my favorite bible verse because it is a reassurance that no matter what I'm going through, whether it is one last down and back when I want to quit or a struggle I am going through in my personal life, I know he has given me the strength to persevere and strive for excellence. This verse has helped me get through numerous occasions on and off the ice.

What else should we know about you (future goals in hockey, family members, what church do you go to, favorite stuff outside of hockey, etc.)

This coming season I will play my final year of juniors in Alberni Valley in the BCHL pursuing my dream of playing DI hockey. Outside of the rink I love to go fishing and having plenty of bonfires with all of my friends and can occasionally be found at my grandparents on the lake. I also love helping out my dad at his training center teaching younger kids how to play the great game of hockey.

I just got back from Shattuck St. Merrys where my sister Anna just graduated. She plays soccer there and also plans on playing soccer in college. I will be volunteering at the Alexandria, MN FCA camp as well as going to warrior fellowship in Utah.
